PATCH NOTES WITHOUT THE FOG

Major player-facing changes, current beta behavior and the systems most worth retesting.

Latest build0.36.0Current beta

Current transmission

Shared Authority and Continuity

  • Made shared planet resources, caches, enemy defeats, constructed modules, and creature pens host-authoritative, revisioned, and durable across reconnects and restarts.
  • Preserved active space NPCs, projectiles, asteroids, loose loot, and encounter-site state across graceful host restarts, with ten-second active checkpoints for unexpected process loss.
  • Reworked browser pilot authentication and slot handoff so a provisional join cannot masquerade as an online pilot or repeatedly cancel a warp.
  • Kept browser mouse capture through warp and planet/space transfers, and advanced Resonant Field, Ancient Wreck, and Void Anomaly tutorial steps only after confirmed arrival.
  • Fixed browser right-click targeting, showed host-authoritative enemy and pilot projectiles, and restored visible hit feedback without giving the browser damage authority.
  • Started online protocol-17 surfaces from clean host-owned records; conflicting legacy per-pilot shared surface copies are not merged automatically, while private pilot cargo, recovery caches, skills, and tamed-creature ownership remain intact.

0.35.0

Abyssal Marine Ecologies

Archived build+
  • Added Abyssal Ocean Worlds, aquatic body plans, depth-scaled fauna, and flooded habitat validation.
  • Replaced the retro ordinary-system score families with nine continuous modern languages plus Alien Geometry.
  • Made known-reality returns safe while retaining violent first-entry rift consequences.
  • Improved planetary LOD, day/night skies, mining acquisition, ruin footprints, camera restoration, and cargo transfer.
0.34.0

Planet-Exclusive Ecologies

Archived build+
  • Creature DNA now hashes the complete authoritative host-world profile and origin identity.
  • Ecological body-plan weighting responds to gravity, air, ocean, ice, and volcanism.
  • Rift diagnostics name the exact blocking item and container; any positive fuel count is valid and only one core is consumed.
0.33.1

Paradise Discovery Fix

Archived build+
  • Added a deterministic paradise checkpoint every four system discoveries.
  • Measured Reality I discovery rate rose from 5.35% to 28.95%, with a maximum miss streak of three in the validation sample.
0.33.0

Procedural Composition Engine

Archived build+
  • Introduced stable system-specific musical languages, longer phrase grammar, adaptive orchestration, and anti-repetition guards.
  • Kept the entire score runtime-generated without samples, MIDI, tracker modules, or recordings.
  • Historical note: 0.35 later replaced the Atari Pulse and Tracker Drive families.
0.32.0

Canonical Planet Identity and Scale

Archived build+
  • Unified each world's map, orbit, and surface identity through one deterministic descriptor.
  • Added explicit paradise, extreme, habitable/abiotic, and abiotic ecology classifications.
  • Scaled rocky worlds, moons, dwarfs, giants, and ships into a consistent physical scene hierarchy.
0.31.0

Procedural Creatures and Taming

Archived build+
  • Added planet-exclusive creature DNA, ordinary and anomalous body plans, role-consistent species, and deterministic animation.
  • Added plasma sedation, xenonutrient lures, a persistent companion roster, and recall.
  • Added small, medium, and large creature pens with habitat, shelter, spacing, and save rules.
